A year in review

As the year comes to a close, it's a fitting time to reflect on our outreach accomplishments. Since our inception, we've provided an impressive 900 showers with our shower trailer. With the support of over 200 dedicated volunteers, we've provided resources in various locations, including Perris Hill Park, Secombe Lake Park, San Bernardino Spanish Church, Salvation Army, Kansas Ave Church, Crosswalk Church, and Ureach Thrift Store. Looking ahead to the new year, we're enthusiastic about upcoming collaborations with additional locations. Alongside our committed volunteers, we've forged partnerships with valuable community organizations, that can provide resources to our community members such as FreePhonesRUs, Street Medicine, the Dermatology Department, Boadway's Barber Shop, UReach Cafe, and UReach Thrift, enhancing our community outreach initiatives. We look forward to the many more opportunities we'll have to serve together this new year.

KINGS AND QUEEN’S THANKSGIVING FEAST UPDATE

The collaborative effort of many volunteers made it possible to provide shoes, hygiene items, clothing, jackets, socks, underwear, blankets, tarps, sleeping bags, prayer services, and literature by the Motorcycle Ministry, no-fee ID applications, emergency blankets, Physical Therapy by Dr. Peter Lingas, wound care,  flu shots, and COVID-19 vaccines by the San Bernardino City Health Department. The day was enriched by live music courtesy of the Praxis Music Team, a second shower trailer was provided by Campus Hill, and the Ureach Cafe provided a light breakfast and a delightful lunch. We had additional help from two youth groups; 16th Street SDA Church Youth led by Pastor Michael Henry and Loma Linda University Church Youth led by Pastor Chris Stanley. Thanks to our SECC Trust and Treasury department for coming and supporting our Kings and Queens Thanksgiving feast.

RENEW NEWS

We’ve had a fantastic start to our Renew Clinics, it was great to see friends/coworkers/families all coming together, volunteering, and serving our displaced population in San Bernardino. Donations keep our program moving forward and each week we receive donations through our Amazon Wishlist, Donation Drive, and Financially, the high level of support is encouraging. We’ve seen many displaced people despite the weather and we are happy we haven't postponed any clinics till now.

We have very exciting news to share, we are adding one more location! The city of San Bernardino is opening the Seccombe Lake Recreation area every 4th Friday of the month. We’ll be providing shower services and we’ll work alongside other local vendors that will be providing resources as well.
